"I can’t say enough about how much help I received over the past several years. I don’t have a lot of resources to help me navigate the terrain of being the primary caregiver for my aging parents. When my mother fell I was able to call Thrive Advice line to receive guidance on whether I needed to call emergency personnel and signs to look for to help me determine if my mother’s condition was deteriorating. Kelly and Leticia also helped me by providing recommendations on how to safety proof the home to prevent additional falls and injuries.

When my father became ill and was hospitalized, I was able to call to better understand the home health services that were available through Medicare so I knew what to ask for during my father’s discharge planning. In a landscape filled with many clinical resources and challenges around insurance reimbursement, they helped me secure a home health agency as well as help me  understand the difference between the various professionals and what my father needed for his continued post discharge rehabilitation. There are so many things you just don’t think about and they are there to help. When I set up my father’s follow up appointment with his doctor, they talked me through the logistical issues that I never even thought about; being able to asses my father’s stamina to walk from the house to the car and from the car to the doctor’s office. The equipment I should have with me, including basic essentials like water and snacks that I would never have thought of.

It’s a relief to know there is someone who is a call away that can talk you through concerns, but more importantly, provide you with suggestions and resources to help you navigate an extremely emotional and complicated health care system."
